"This is a truly charming cottage, restored with great care, craftsmanship and thought. It exceeds its promises. We found everything beautifully presented, immaculately clean and very welcoming, and were at once, at home with all we could need and much more! Lovely bed linen, fresh flowers, and Sarah and Andy, so accomodating and welcoming, and providing any extra attention they could lavish. We felt very cared for in the beautiful surroundings of their farm set in the peace of the lovely Somerset countryside. This was a haven and a privilege! "
"I booked Sarah and Andy's cottage for a romantic (proposal) getaway for me and my partner (now fiancee). The cottage itself was extremely well presented and we felt at home straight away. The location was exactly what I was looking for, rural but well connected, ideal for long beautiful walks into the surrounding countryside and to National Trust properties. Sarah and Andy were welcoming but not intrusive during our stay. They welcomed us into their farm house for a cup of tea when we arrived and gave us a wealth of ideas for activities in the area. We'll definitely be coming back!"
"We had a lovely stay at sock cottage. Sarah is very accommodating as a host and the situation is idyllic and a lovely quiet environment in which to relax and recharge. Sarah provides high quality ingredients ready for fried breakfasts, as well as bread, milk and jams etc which we felt was above and beyond what was required and added to a feeling of being spoilt. The furnishings are also of a very good standard. We highly recommend the cottage and Sarah as a host and will be looking to visit again in future."
"Sarah invited us to join them for a cuppa and scrummy biscuit in their kitchen within moments of arriving. I mentioned it was our anniversary and we were totally spoilt with red roses, card and heart-shaped chocs! The cottage itself was five star luxury, and the bed was so huge and sumptuous you didn't want to leave it. Fabulous shower complete with toiletries. My highlight was Norman the Labrador - he never seemed to tire of chasing sticks/logs/branches...! Great meal at the local - The Crown and Victoria Inn. Highly recommend (website hidden) for a relaxing massage/facial/reflexology - based in Somerton. Having put some photos on FB whilst we were still there, a friend has booked for a break next July! Already planning when we can visit next.."
"The cottage was in a beautiful and peaceful location. We were made to feel very much at home and enjoyed lovely evening strolls around the farm and surrounding fields. It was also great to be fully stocked up with eggs, sausages and bacon! Highly recommended."
"We absolutely loved our weekend at Sock Cottage, we only wish it could have lasted longer. In the lead-up to our stay Sarah offered helpful advice on directions and places to eat out. From the glass of fizz and a chat on arrival, the local produce in the fridge for breakfast, to the company of dogs Norman and Olive, Sarah and Andy were wonderful. The cottage itself was beautiful and had everything you could possibly need and more. It is perfect for two and is light and airy whilst also being cosy and comfortable. We would also recommend a meal at The Lord Poulett Arms, which we really enjoyed and is definitely worth a visit. We had a really lovely weekend, thank you Sarah and Andy (and Norman and Olive!)."
