Sock Farm nestles within 35 acres of its own beautiful hills, fields and wooded areas at the end of a long no through road. The Farmhouse is a listed building, once a keeper’s cottage for the nearby National Trust owned Montacute House. Sock Cottage is a converted dairy attached to the farmhouse yet it offers complete privacy. Despite our unique and romantic setting we are situated close to main routes from London to the West Country making it easy to explore the beauties and attractions of Somerset and Dorset or to break a long journey to Devon or Cornwall. Inside the Cottage you will find a large beamed bedroom with a deliciously comfortable super king bed prepared with crisp white linens. This can be adapted to two full size single beds according to guests' wishes. The inviting en-suite shower room includes soaps, thick white fluffy bath sheets and a vaulted ceiling! Double oak doors, handmade in our own workshop, lead from the bedroom to an open plan living/dining area that is light, comfortable and welcoming with wonderful views of the hill fields. The little cottage kitchen is stocked with essentials and supplies to welcome guests without the need to shop on the way and a breakfast of fresh farm produce awaits after a peaceful night. Outside is a small flower and herb adorned courtyard which is quite a sun trap on summer days. All 35 acres are available for our guests to roam and enjoy. Sock Cottage is a perfect retreat for couples or friends seeking comfort, tranquillity, and birdsong. We can help you make prior arrangements for a wonderful anniversary surprise for your partner, an unexpected treat for friends or family members deserving a break from their demanding lives or simply to make your own stay appropriate and enjoyable.
